1. Opening Statement
[TOP]
The members of |cGc| came together with the specific goal
in mind. That goal is to play Counterstrike in an enjoyable environment without
the problems of hackers, whiners, complainers, or rude, discourteous players. We
encourage and appreciate participation and suggestions from all members and
visitors who wish to effect change in policies, rules, regulations or any aspect
of operation. All members of |cGc|, as administrators, manage the |cGc|
community. The members have a responsibility to ensure that a fair and
comfortable atmosphere is maintained.
These are the "Collective Rules" for the community. They are pretty simple.
Please make sure you follow them at all times. In many cases, you will not get a
warning before punished, so make sure you understand and follow the rules!
2. Good
Sportsmanship
[TOP]
The |cGc| community is maintained by the mutual respect for others.
The traits that keep us together are: maturity, intelligence, and an
open enjoyment for the game, keeping in mind that it is a game. The
primary objective is to have fun with a community of online gamers
of similar interest. We believe that the primary objective is
achieved by intelligence, humor, and good sportsmanship.
The focus for all members and visitors is
respect for all, and a focus on team play and team spirit. This does
not mean that individualism is given up of the sake of the game.
This does mean that any ongoing conflict with others participating
on the server should be re-examined, and possibly be dealt with at a
later time. Any objection or conflict with any visitor or |cGc|
member should be respectfully brought to that person's attention. If
the corrective action, or lack thereof, is not acceptable, then a
mention on the |cGc| server forum should be made for the examination
of other members.
Poor sportsmanship is not acceptable within
the |cGc| community. There are several kinds of poor sportsmanship:
failure to consider team balance, which is not always a simple case
of making the numbers even; playing with a focus on individual skill
and score rather than team success; consistently playing on the
“easy” side; and a stubborn or belligerent unwillingness to accept
the majority’s wishes. These are just a few examples among many.
Generally, poor sportsmanship is that which promotes the
individual’s enjoyment at the expense of everyone else's enjoyment.
Team play, team spirit, and mutual respect
for all visitors and members is the fundamental ideology of the
|cGc| community.
3. Cheating
[TOP]
3.1. General Rules [TOP]
No cheating is
allowed whatsoever. If a visitor or member feels the necessity to cheat, hack, or
otherwise use an implement, program, or device that provides an unfair
advantage, then that person should consider playing on another server. The
following is a list of actions that are all considered cheating.
-
Ghost reporting, which is give out any tactical
information to other “live" players while in the ghost mode or in the dead room.
-
Any action that defies or overrides the game designers’
presumed intention for the game. (No Hackers)
-
Any action that takes advantage of any flaw in the game
map that allows actions that defy or override the game designers’ presumed
intention.
-
Do not use any exploits caused by a bug in the game.
This would include things like walking in the sky or other places where you
clearly should not be able to walk. If the game physics would not normally allow
you to do something, such as see through walls or move through walls/ceilings,
do not do it.
-
Do not use any application that gives you an unfair
advantage.
*If you are caught cheating you will be kicked from the
server and banned for at least a day. No if's, and's or but's. So don't cheat. If
you need help, get one of the better players to practice with you, but do not
under any circumstances think that it is ok to cheat.
3.2. Allowed Actions [TOP]
- First
round on a map should be pistols unless the map was designed with other
weapons available to be picked up by players during normal play.
- Using
hostages as shields.
- Using
custom skins (with the exception of acknowledged cheat skins)
- Using
modified crosshairs.
- Buying
guns for teammates.
- Killing
the opponent after the round is over.
- Tactical
guarding, also known as “camping”. Camping is not allowed if it conflicts with
your team's objective, ie, such as T’s camping when they should be planting
the bomb, or spawn camping as a CT in
Italy. This means don't camp when
it doesn't have a direct purpose related to your mission objectives. Do it
once and you will get a warning. Do it three times and you will be slapped or
kicked. Some maps dictate camping at various stages for both sides, such as
de_assault.CTs defending bomb sites or a fallen bomb, and Ts defending
hostages is always permitted.
3.3.
Not Allowed Actions [TOP]
-
Intentional team killing.
-
Intentional team wounding.
-
Intentionally killing hostages.
-
Intentionally blinding your own team with flash-bangs.
- Planting
the bomb in such a way that it is either invisible or silent due to a map
flaw.
- Planting
the bomb in places accessible via a boost.
-
PROFANITY either via text message or verbally.
-
Intentionally blocking your teammates.
- Don't
run around with the bomb on purpose only trying to kill the other team. If you
have the bomb and are right next to the bomb target area, PLANT IT!
- After
rescuing some hostages, do not kill the remain hostages in order to win the
round.
- Don't be
rude to people that are on the other team. Don't be rude to your victims.
Gentle ribbing is allowed, but don't let it cross over into abusiveness.
- Do Not
Stack
Stacking is defined as one clan or group of individuals
who play often together playing on same team in the server. This is not
allowed.
If admins see this, they will do their utmost to get
people to move voluntarily. Failing that, they will manually move people to
different teams to attempt to bring balance to the teams. Players who resist
the effort to balance teams will be punished.

6. Members Do's and
Don'ts [TOP]
-
Do not under any circumstances
violate these rules.
-
Treat all players with respect.
-
Try to be nice when asking people to do something. Ask
don’t tell.
-
Tell people why they are about to be kicked unless they
are cheating. Cheating is to be dealt with quickly and harshly, but only after
you have made a thorough and diligent assessment of the fact that they are
cheating.
-
Notify the
Bot's
or
Senior
Admins through the discussion board if you
need
a
ban.
-
Uphold all rules of the server.
-
Play by all the rules of the server as well as the rules
of Collective members.
-
Avoid personal arguments with other players. You are held
to a higher standard as an admin.
-
Your conduct should be above board at all times.
-
Use a amx_vote "map name" to start a map vote.
-
Do not EVER use admin rights for personal gain.
(Unless
its
admin
night)
-
Do not use admin powers against people who say bad things
about you unless they are violating the server rules. Even then, it's best to
let another admin deal with it, if possible, to avoid the appearance that it is
personally motivated.
-
Do not use admin powers to stack teams so that you can
improve your stats.
-
Do not use admin powers to verbally attack another
player. You are supposed to be a shining example of what The Collective is and
the ambassador to all other players who visit the server. Act accordingly.
-
Do not slap yourself, or use your power as a way to
entertain yourself. Your admin rights are to be taken seriously.
-
Do not slap people, kick people, or whatever, just
because they want you to. Admin rights are to be used for punishment reasons
only. They aren't a form of entertainment.
-
Do not switch the map without doing a map vote first.
Except for setting up the server
to
draw
more
player/practice/skirmishes/league matches.
-
Do not put a password on the server except for times that
are scheduled before hand such as league matches/skirmishes and weekly
practices.

How To Become A |cGc| Member [TOP]
If you want to be an |cGc| member,
the best way to do this is to show that you are an active member on the
server, website and that your behavior is above reproach at all times. If you
feel the need to ask for admin right, please don't. Those who are most
deserving will not seek these rights out, for they truly are more time
consuming and serious than they would appear to be.
Remember,
people's perceptions of the clan and the server hang on your every action. So
use care in every effort made to police the server. *Loyalty to the clan is a
must. We will keep all squabbles internal to the clan. Do not badmouth the
clan in a public manner. Always do what is best for the clan as much as
possible. If you need an extended leave of absence, please take it. We will
keep you on the roster forever if need be. If you have been loyal to the clan,
the clan will be loyal to you.
9.
New Member Recruits [TOP]
New member recruits will be on a
probationary period for 1 month from the date of their joining The Collective.

meet the ideals of the Collective.

Remember this is
only a game. We have all come together from a common bond
gaming. We
strive to have as much fun as we possibly can while fraggin' others. The
server and the
|cGc| community will only function enjoyably through the
cooperation of all those who participate. This sever is not your right, but
rather your privilege. Enjoy!
